American Society of Sanitary Engineering
The American Society of Sanitary Engineering (ASSE) is a nonprofit organization that is comprised of individual and sustaining members who represent all disciplines of the Plumbing Industry. Its mission is to, in the spirit of its motto "Prevention Rather Than Cure," continually improve the performance, reliability and safety of plumbing systems. Val-Matic is a member company of ASSE and assisted with writing the ASSE 1063 Standard on Inflow Preventers, to which the FloodSafe® is listed.
American Water Works Association
The American Water Works Association (AWWA) is an internationally recognized authority on drinking water issues. Val-Matic is an active participant on several AWWA Valve Standards Committees and has been instrumental in publishing related Standards and Manuals of Practice. John Holstrom and John Ballun currently serve as Chairs of several valve sub-committees.
Manufacturers Standardization Society
The Manufacturers Standardization Society's (MSS) primary function is to provide its members the means to develop engineering standard practices for the use and benefit of the industry and users of its products. The Society, the only organization dedicated solely to the technical needs of the industry, is currently comprised of 25 technical committees to write, revise and reaffirm industry standards. Steve Dalton and Jim Gower are active participants on several MSS Standards Committees and have been instrumental in publishing valve MSS Standards of Practice. John Ballun, P.E. is a Past President of MSS.
Submersible Wastewater Pump Association
The Submersible Wastewater Pump Association (SWPA) is a national trade association representing and serving the manufacturers of submersible pumps for municipal and industrial wastewater pump applications. Diane Meyer is a current member of the SWPA Executive Committee. Val-Matic is an associate member and regular contributor to SWPA’s Lift Station Design Handbook.
Valve Manufacturers Association of America
The Valve Manufacturers Association of America (VMA) is a trade association that represents the interests of nearly 100 North American manufacturers of valves, actuators and controls. Collectively, members account for approximately 80% of the total industrial valve shipments out of U.S. and Canadian facilities. Founded in 1938, VMA is headquartered in Washington, DC. Val-Matic regularly participates and contributes to VMA Conferences on Business Issues, Legislation, Marketing and Company Operations.
Water and Sewer Distributors of America
The Water and Sewer Distributors of America (WASDA) is a national trade association comprised of distributors and manufacturers of waterworks and wastewater products whose mission is to strengthen and promote the distribution of water and wastewater products and services. Val-Matic is an associate member and regularly participates in annual conferences, committee meetings and the future leaders' council.
Water Environment Federation
The Water Environment Federation (WEF) is a leading technical organization for the water quality industry since 1928, whose mission is to connect water professionals; enrich the expertise of water professionals; increase the awareness of the impact and value of water; and provide a platform for water sector innovation.
